Herman Cain Just Doesn't Know When To Shut Up -or- How To Commit Political Suicide 101

First of all.... no one should take this as support for (or defense of) Nancy Pelosi. I have my own issues with the former Speaker of the House.

BUT..... if I were running for President of the United States... and I had recently been undergoing intense media and public scrutiny for the alleged sexual harassment of four women.... I might want to choose my words a little more carefully and avoid saying ANYTHING that sounded remotely misogynistic or sexist.

Apparently... that's one more area that Herman and I disagree upon.

At the very least, I'm put off by the notion of a Presidential candidate who resorts to rather juvenile, schoolyard sobriquets to describe a political opponent. But I also notice that Cain doesn't similarly refer to any of his male opponents by using derogatory or derisive nicknames.

If he had ever, even once, referred to Gingrich as, "Lardass McGee" or to Ron Paul as, "Grandpa Smurf" or called Rick Perry, "Perry the Fairy".... I might be more inclined to think he's merely an inappropriate and sophomoric douchebag in general..... and not the unrepentant, misogynistic, serial-groper he's alleged to be.

Whatever you believe about him... it's hard to see how Cain did himself any favors by lowering himself to playground name-calling and behavior unbecoming to a Presidential candidate.... let alone giving his detractors a full magazine of fresh ammunition, while at the same time doing everything he can to dodge their bullets.

Just my two pennies worth.

  • OK, let me help Herman out here...

He should have used the following statement:

...because that WHORE Nancy Pelosi sent it to committee...

I'll see your two pennies and raise with my two bits. ;)

Or.... here's a crazy suggestion.... he could have just answered the question about replacing ObamaCare and left Pelosi out of it altogether.

He was given 30 seconds to answer a question that America has been wrestling with for 3 years.... and he uses that time to snipe at Nancy Pelosi?

Face it, Bro.... Herman walked all the way around that question so he could score some style points with the Pelosi Haters Club.... and he left anybody who wanted a real answer hanging.

      The More..

Wait a second...... "call or fold"?

You completely ignored my raise and then muttered something about McCain.

Sorry, Brother.... where I come from, you can't change the game from "Texas Hold 'em" to "Go Fish" in the middle of the hand.

Oh wait..... I think I see what might be going on here. Were you having a senior moment and thinking that the argument was about John McCain instead of Herman Cain?

You know.... reading glasses work for computer screens too. Would it help if I used a bold font?

Oh screw it.... Got any threes?

dang. i think you have a point. how many have they done so far?
it seems a stupid tactic. it's kind of entertaining but it seems to be hurting the republicans.

  • Guy is dead in the water at this point. I dont think anything he says or does will salvage his campaign because while conservatives might still vote for him for being so "anti-anything-not-conservative", he doesn't stand a chance picking up anyone who was on the fence now.

    • @thinkslaughter You have been watching the debates haven't you? Perry froze up on his own goals, and Cain completely got stumped on answering a question on Medicare, so he told Newt to answer it (seemed like he probably gave up the turn to speak so he could get clues to what they were talking about IMO). Nearly every candidate running on the right this election is a joke, and if you dont see that, you are completely blind. How many have been propped up only to fall straight to the bottom? Al More..

you must have a difficult time trying to vote then. Unfortunately this is the standard rule in politics now and you see it blatantly on both sides.

I tend to see it more out of the liberal crowd, but that most likely my own bias.
