Italy - "Death from the deep" - illegal radioactive waste dumping is poisoning nearby residents (Oct.2009)
A Cargo Ship, sunk by a former Mafia boss, was recently found 20 kilometres off the coast of Cetraro in Italy. Inside the ship was 120 barrels of toxic waste. Was the Italian government involved?

I've mentioned this here before but it appears to me that the US has a strange predilection for making cultural heroes and icons out of some of it's worst villains. From Billy the Kid, Jessie James, Capone, Giotti, even Manson. et al. The Gangster rap thing seems to have even made it into an artform.
