November 5th, 2007 Tattoo's of all shapes and sizes could be spotted in Tulsa Oklahoma over the weekend. It's been a year since tattooing became legal in Oklahoma, and as K-O-T-V's Rick Wells shows us, this is way beyond the dolphin tattoo you might have gotten on spring break. Dennis tucker is finishing up a lotus tattoo on kristie wofford's left shoulder.... about another hour and the color will all be done..... This is the Midwest Body art Festival...it's early on day one, things are just getting started.... It's been a year since legalization and the artists here say that will result in cleaner safer and ultimately better quality tattooing.... One of the featured celebrity artists is Katzen or Kat the Tiger Lady....an obvious reference to the stripes....they are head to toe.... Katzen:I'm almost finished I still have a little bit under my arms to do...." I know you're asking why....she likes it....she started on her leg and chose to keep going.... Katzen:"I've had 227 different artists tattoo me in the last 15 years...' "So you're a walking palette?" yes, she says lots of different styles and techniques from all over the world....but stripes are her thing..... She's here with her husband and six month old son felix.... She and her husband perform as the Katzen-Ignatz Zirkus....she describes it as pain proof acts with music... Wanna see? sure.... He climbed on a bed of nails.....and ...well tattoo Here we go three.....(bam).." that's a real concrete block and those are real nails..... I thought sure there'd be holes in his back....but no..... That picture is a fudo myo....a protector of buddism....does pretty well against a bed of nails too....
