Deputy "Herp Derpson" Tests Positive For Marijuana During Random Drug Screening

On
August 30, 2012, Deputy William Jay Wyatt, age 22, resigned from the
Madison County Sheriff’s Office rather than face a disciplinary
proceeding. Deputy Wyatt tested positive for marijuana during a random
drug screening on August 27, 2012.Deputy
Wyatt was assigned to the corrections division at the J. Alexander
Leech Criminal Justice Complex/Jail. He has been an employee of the
Madison County Sheriff’s Office since January 2010.Deputy
Wyatt’s personnel file reflects two (2) disciplinary actions. On
October 27, 2011, he received two (2) days suspension without pay for
inappropriate Facebook postings.
On November 15, 2011, he received three (3) days suspension without pay for disregarding a direct order.


The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has a zero tolerance drug policy that has been in effect since September 1, 2005.
