World's Largest Swimming Pool
Measuring almost 3,500 ft in length, even the strongest swimmers may baulk at the idea of doing laps in this pool.
So it's no surprise the San Alfonso del Mar seawater pool in Algarroba, Chile has been named the world's largest outdoor swimming pool by the Guinness Book of World Records.
With a surface area of around 20 acres, the pool is equivalent in size to nearly 6,000 backyard swimming pools and is filled with 250,000 cubic meters of salt water.
Completed in December 2006, the resort also boasts an indoor climate controlled beach and ferries to shuttle you from one end of the giant pool to the other.
