Hogs are incredibly aggressive. I used to visit relatives in the summer and work on a hog farm. We were always warned about two in particular, but to also never allow any of them to get behind you in general. Most of them would eat their own offspring, so you had to remove them and put them with another sow. If they could, they'd knock you on your rear and then tear you to pieces. I'm sure he was aware, it's just part of the responsibilities of the job.

People (especially city-slickers) need to know a hog doesn't have to be "hungry" to kill and eat you. Stay out of fields and pens that contain hogs!

When I was a kid, we had seven pigs on a ranch. You would risk your life if you went into the pen...we had many chickens which disappeared..all you could find were feathers...I once found a chickin neck. They will eat anything !

@wmeszaros I also grew up on a farm, agreed, having observed Feral hogs and domesticated hogs, they are actually pretty vicious and will eat anything. Hunting here in the islands, I have observed them taking young goats, and feeding off of feral cows having been shot and going off to die somewhere. Make no mistakes about it people, going into a pen with domesticated pigs in excess of 350 lbs during feeding time is NOT recommended, they will fock you up if getting between the food and themselves
