      To be fair, conservatives did start to protest. It took them almost 8 years, but they finally woke up when Bush went to do the bailouts. Liberals mostly just sat on their hands as the bailouts went through, and only a couple years later did Occupy Wall Street start raising the same complaints that tens of thousands of conservative protesters raised back in 2008.
