I received this in my email this morning with the disclaimer that it wasn't on Snopes, but there was no confirmation that it was true. I started pulling the title of each line and entering into scroogle. Lo and behold it seems very true. I checked the first four... then scrolled down and checked for Tulsa (Theresaland), where an old acquaintance of mine was just made mayor. They all came up true.
I can only guess at what the reason is. Someone cracked the national pedophilia ring (if that was the case there would be beaucoup judges too)? Obama is cleaning house of all who might resist a federal martial martial law takeover?
Your guess is as good as mine. Here's the list... the first 4 and Tulsa are verified:
******can if you if you live in any of the city's listed, check in on it on it so we can debunk this if its not true. Thanks******Your thoughts on this too******
Subject: POLICE CHIEFS RESIGNING
1. Gaithersburg, MD Gaithersburg Police Chief John King resigned with little explanation last week, leaving his colleagues and community members wondering what happened.
2. Guttenberg, IA Police Chief Resigns After Seven Months on the Job, no reason
3. Harrisburg, PA - Richard Pickles retires after serving a month as Harrisburg police chief
4. Culpeper, VA When Scott Barlow announced two weeks ago he would step down from his job as chief of police with the town of Culpeper, it caught a lot of people off guard, including us.
5. Carbondale, IL - Police Chief Resigns, no reason given
6. Austin, MN - Several Austin City Council members said they were "shocked" by Austin Police Chief Paul Philipp's resignation Tuesday morning.
7. Jonesboro, GA - The City of Jonesboro's new police chief has resigned, five weeks after being named to the top job.
8. Manassas, VA - found this quote: "I hope the Chief enjoys his retirement. Between his service in the Secret Service, Fairfax and Manassas, he's earned it."
9. West Covina, CA - Tolich, a 21-year veteran of the force, retired nine years before he was eligible for full retirement benefits, Finance Director Thomas Bachman said.
In an email Tolich sent to members of the department, he tells fellow officers that a personal matter involving him and his family led to the sudden departure.
These were either benign stories or little info given.
(Bearing in mind that a seasoned cop could probably make a pretty believable alibi for leaving.)

I am from Indiana and just for shits and grins I looked up 63 for you. It is true that he (George Nelson) is resigning as chief of police. The reason given doesn't sound all that reasonable either. He isn't retiring from the force and has been the chief for like 37 years. Said something about wanting to give the opportunity for leadership to someone else and it was in the best interests of the town because he would be retiring in two years.
The thing is, if this is true that all these chiefs More..

Another reason that doesn't make sense is pensions are usually calculated on the last 3 full yrs of service. If he takes a demotion it will affect his monthly pension stipend. Why would he take less money after serving so long?

Many members of law enforcement are Nati-Guard or other (spookier) active duty, are they not?
Perhaps a good portion of them are being deployed.
Add that to the natural causes (retirement, relocation, etc), and the sum might equal the uptick.

I did a little googling. This story also appeared on a website called rumormillnews.com. They cited as their souce a website called timeline2012.net that billed itself as "A balanced view on consciousness and science".
In other words, moonbattery.

If it's in an e-mail it must be true. Hell just this morning I received one that stated there was a group of flying monkeys spotted over Florida while a team of pink elephants walked below them ridden by cyborgs!
