Syrian sniper
Part of channel(s): Syria (current event)

Don't know if this is army or rebel, training or combat. If it's combat, he's sure taking a lot of shots for whatever he's trying to hit.

    • @Nopadoca yeah mate awesome rifle but let me tell you that arse-clown!! shooting it with the barrel resting on the rock will fuck-up the ballistics of the round

  • A scope on a rifle DOES NOT MAKE A SNIPER. It makes a dope with a rifle and scope.

  • A classic example of the the fact that shooting a sniper rifle does not make you a sniper...

True, but the FAL is not a sniper rifle. The barrel is too light and the trigger action too heavy.

    • @DEADBEEF I'm generalising "Sniper Rifle" to mean any military rifle with a high powered scope attached. Having said that the FN FAL SLR that the Australian defense forces used up till the late 90s could still reach out and touch someone at a fair distance. Some of the guys from my old Army Reserve unit could make a grouping no bigger than an inch across at 300m with open sites and still produce a very small grouping at 600m. But yes it wasn't used as a sniper rifle.

    • @kerbel1

Inch across at 300 yards ha ha!

I was an Australian Army Marksman qualified on the L1A1. I've competed in plenty of Australian marksman competitions against the best and a 1 inch group at 300 metres is flatly impossible.

The L1A1 with iron sites has a major flaw in that the fore-sight is on a different mechanical assembly to the rear-sight. Any tiny flexure of the fore-hand will push the sights out of alignment.

Mix in wind and ammunition that is not competition grade and you are b More..

    • @DEADBEEF I'm not going to argue with your experiences mate but our rifle team won the Tri Service Shoot 3 years running and a total of 6 times in a 10 year period. The Tri Service for those who don't know being a shooting competition between Army, Navy and Air Force marksmen along with shooters from the Police force. One of our marksmen could shoot that well, I'm not trying to bullshit anyone or convince you of anything. Believe me or not doesn't matter to me either way, definately not trying t More..

    • @kerbel1

You've just reminded me of my weekly Wednesday afternoon shoot against the SASR boys and other Infantry units.

Quite often the Police would turn up on the range to practice SWAT tactics or whatever they were called then. Jeez! What thugs! You got the impression they would far prefer to beat a suspect to death than shoot him.

Right around then they demonstrated their "compassion" on an armed offender with a large group of them shooting him with automatic weapons. They had b More..

  • He's a rebel moron.

    1. Rests barrel directly on rock rest (destroys accuracy) instead of resting forend on solid rest.

    2. Poor shooting position (should lie on large rock in the prone with a solid rest under rifle forend for maximum stability instead of taking the position which allows upper body to sway left and right).

    3. No use of spotter/buddy system.

    4. Wears white shirt (highly visible target).

    5. No hat with brim to shade eyes from bright sunlight.

    6. Look at his beard. He's More..

  • That's an FN-FAL with a folding stock. That means it's probably not one of the Libyan sourced weapons.

You can be certain that these are terrorists as the SAA do not use the FN-FAL.

He's also remarkably inept in his weapon handling and aiming which is probably why he keeps missing.

  • A rebel, because the Syrian Army doesn't use Lebanese- or Libyan-supplied FN FALs with Qatari or Turkish sourced 7.62 ammo.
