this actually was an improve...Jones was supposed to get into a dramatic fight, but Harrison Ford had a very bad cold didn't want to fight. He suddenly thought, I've got a gun, I'll just shoot him, and they kept it in the film. You can see the look on his face, he doesn't look well.

funny true story, Harrison Ford originally was supposed to have a big sword fight with this guy, but Harrison got sick from the local food or water and on the day of the shoot couldn't do more than just stand still without shitting his pants. So it was decided that Indy should just blow the guy away... I think it works.

  and the sword guy was bummed because it was supposed to be this elaborate ly choreographed sequence (that he put all the effort into learning all the moves for)... then Ford turns it into a one-line gag. lol
