I see the Syrian army still hasn't learned not to send armoured vehicles into an urban environment without sufficient infantry support. Completely different from how the US tackled Fallujah in the Iraq war. The Americans sent in infantry to clear out the buildings ahead of the tanks. If they encountered dug in insurgents, they used the tanks to remove them. The way the Assad's army is fighting, I can safely say any Western military would have rolled over them even b4 the uprising.
