Spoken Word project produced a few years ago. Poem by Max Reif, used by exclusive permission from the author, licensed music, and voiced by yours truly Piruly.

Video resolution had to be reduced for the web so apologies for the degraded quality as I lost the masters when my original hard drive died years ago.

Thanks for watching, AND commenting.

  • You know what this stuff reminds me of?

Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
And we decide which is right
    And which is an illusion...

  • Well done. I like this a lot even though it saddened me. Despite the masses; despite the infrastructure - there is a deep loneliness in those words. Of course I could be crazy and it's just me. If that's the case - please just think it - don't say it :)

    • @piruly - thanks for the info. What's interesting, and I think, a little sad, is that we don't hear of poets anymore, not really. I guess you have to look really hard. I shall have to check out his other works. -- I;m okay, busy. Stay well, yourself!

    • @gingerm So true regarding poets--and no I don't consider the slam artists "poets" in the purest sense at least. They tend to be just angry voices and in that sense, I'd rather listen to voices from pain simply because I consider suffering as moments of deep realization which benefit all of us regardless of station in this life.

"Busy" of course, is a "good" thing just stay cool and well hydrated--then again you already probably know this better than I do.

  • What a great poem. Well read out too.
I like videos that make you think and feel.
The hidden loneliness we all feel but are too afraid to speak of.

I think we are on an equal wavelength brother.
Keep up the great work Piruly.

    • @SomeTosser I so appreciate that man. Not many like this sort of thing but those that do are some of the most awesome people you can ever hope to know.

Thanks--I got lots more stuff in the works--stay tuned

  • Very nice, poetic and relaxing.

I was going through some of your older posts and watched your first your say, and I must say I feel the same way being on the other side of the camera. I work behind the scenes in TV... although you wouldnt believe me by the quality of my videos. I dont use company equipment for personal stuff. I do have some cool stuff Ive done that I would love to upload if I had a way to get them off of a Beta SX tape... :(

    • @RAMSEY44 I know a guy who works for TV as a master controller and he either has or knows how to convert those beta tapes. I'll ask him to see if he can do it for nothing and get back to you.

Do you guys use Avid software in the studio?

I specialize in audio production and am able to use all major platforms but for personal use prefer Sony Creative software.

With quad cores the distinction between pc and mac has all but disappeared.

Thanks for viewing and your support, and of course, I've g More..

Yeah, I used to edit with avid for news. I forget which version, theres new stuff now and I don't know how to use it anymore... The tape thing won't be necessary brother, too much bother for just a few corny videos. I've worked a few jobs in news TV for the last 8 years, TD, Graphics, Roboctic cameras, then Director. Now I still direct but its alot different than traditional directing. Its an automated system called Ignite. Very cool once you get over the bugs... I havent used a More..

    • @Jonestown Punch That poem always does that for me too bro.

Your story is a compelling journey still unfolding which is why you ought to share more of it as you feel comfortable doing.

One can talk extensively about things they've learned through life and yet not just be talking about themselves but rather of that which we all experience albeit in different ways.
