Hildegard von Bingen - 1098 - 1179 - was born in the 11th century in Germany. She said that she 'met God' and started receiving visions from Him. She was illiterate at the time that she 'met God' and it was illegal back than for a woman to learn how to read and write. After she met God, she was able not only to read and write in several different languages, but she was also able to compose music. The only reason she was not arrsted for doing so, is that the people believed her account of meeting God and receiving visions from Him.

The music that she composed was the actual music that she heard when she met God. It was the music straight from Heaven that the angels were singing, to praise God

Most of the music that she wrote was in Latin.
