Although effective, it does seem the cost per kill is rather high. But that just may be the nature of combating guerrilla warfare, at least in this day and age of technology and unlimited spending.

@priapism that shot was taken from over 3 miles away... trying to get the helo close enough to take a gun shot and not rake the area with 30 cal could let those to guys escape to fight another day.
Besides, the finger of god effect of a hellfire missile, is also a good physiological effect. We better be good or be blown up.
