A MAN who posted videos of himself driving at high speed with his pet parrot clinging to the windscreen wipers has been questioned by police.
Police and RSPCA inspectors raided the Justin Lawther’s Chelsea Heights home this morning at 10.20am, before interviewing him about several traffic offences.
The 38-year-old man was not charged, but police are continuing their investigation into footage of a car with a bird aboard apparently speeding along the Eastern Freeway with the bird on board, before the car brakes sharply in the emergency lane.
A clip of the stunt went viral after being posted on YouTube, but the police and animal advocates warned of possible criminal charges.
But Mr Lawther has previously defied authorities, declaring "every bird should feel the wind through their feathers".
The YouTube video, posted by driver Justin Lawther, depicts a car accelerating then braking sharply in an emergency lane with a green parrot clinging to the wiper.
