in the Islamic world this is pretty prominent, it's called bacha bazi, basically the society represses women to such an extent that men have no outlet sexually to turn to, so they enjoy young boys, they don't consider it homosexuality because the boys have not reached puberty, it's also culturally common in places like Afghanistan which also has a similar repressive sharia driven culture.
