Large Goose Down

Downed a large goose at Guadalupe slough. First goose for Sierra. Took her two tries, she spooked and backed off the first try. Sent her again after goose was dead and she pulled it out and yelled at it a bit.

  • For some of our LL members that are not from the USA, please be aware that while hunting is legal, there are very strict guidelines set forth by each State on what animal/bird is permissible to take, what time of year you can hunt, as well as the number you can take. Hunters pay for permits that are turned back into the wildlife programs of each State. By strictly controlling the wildlife/hunting, State wildlife agencies can manage the various animal populations to insure healthy wildlife that w More..

      Great post.
      One thing to add:

Fish and Wildlife Conservation programs are mostly funded by hunters and anglers and the outfitters which they buy supplies and equipment from.

    • @Sir Dingleberry ----HUNTING is for COWARDS.
      VEGETARIANISN/VEGANISM should be mandatory.
this world has enough natural foods available that killing animal lifeforms is 100% UNNECESSARY. only Aboriginal tribes with minimal access to other foods should be allowed to hunt if they 'N-E-E-D' it.
Anyobdy else doing this is still living in 1750 and needs to grow the fuck up and understand that hunting has passed its' time. Accept it. Grow some fucking balls and eat botanicals.

SLAUGHTERING an INNOCENT, UNARMED animal whether for sport, or consumption is the action of a coward. TONS of Alternatives are available to eat. TONS of OTHER SPORTS are available to partake in. Why Murder a peaceful animal? Canines in our mouth were for cavemen - not us. Just as the Appendix was... Grow the fuck up

  • Great hunt, amazing the ignorance on this forum. Ignoramuses that berate those who hunt, yet go to the market to buy their butchered tormented meat. While others claim it unethical because of the use of weapons, i.e guns. Top predators use weapons as well simpletons, namely highly developed claws teeth and highly evolved musculus-skeletal properties. • @Validated I agree on your point concerning hypocrisy. But you must recognize that great majority of people are and continue to be subjected to mind control.
Yet if one finds himself sympathetic to a free creature shot out of the sky and having it's life taken away, is that really a bad thing, the sympathy? Or is it that--to you-- such person's ignorance outshine his or her empathy? Truly, is empathy ever bad?

    • @Validated Well although I do hunt myself - occasionally, rarely moreso. I don't find that using the "Store meat" is good for an argument.

The meat at the store is prepared for us, they kill the animals they gave life too and kept from "nature" so that we can eat meat.

What a hunter does is look at this prepared meat that lives were already killed for and say "Naw, i want my own" and go kill even more life.

So its not needed to hunt anymore, we prepare food for o More..

    • @KeyEntity So you infer that a hunter does not feel empathy or sympathy? Sympathy is an emotional quality, the basis for my argument is strictly logical. There is a huge fallacy in assuming hunters care not and ignorant generalizations and statements made here make no sense.Of course one feels sympathy, the majority of hunters love the natural ecosystem and hence sympathize. • @Sacr3 "Store meat" argument is quite a valid argument.Preservatives? lol no, how about hormones, antibiotics, high levels of intramuscular fat and lower levels of proteins,prions..list goes on. These are the biproducts associated with cage fed animals. Many hunters prefer the taste of game foods and its quite a bit cheaper. The reasons for hunting are numerous, including management of many species that are simply too numerous and prove to be invasive to an ecosystem if not managed.

But before hunting I ate store bought meat for my whole life without getting sick or having problems, same with my family.

  • Most of the negative comments come from places where people don't have the freedom to hunt wild game. Either the government has taken their guns or they don't have any sizable populations of wild game. Here in North America it's legal and regulated. The contributions made by hunters and strict harvest and season regulations afford us the opportunity. Most of you should stop whining and ask yourself where's all the wild game in my country and why can't I hunt? The rest of you are just out of touc More..

    • @takeanumber They are so coddled and feminized in places like Britain that they made it illegal to hunt foxes with blood hounds while on horseback. Hunting traditions that had been practiced for hundreds of years simply wiped out with the stroke of a pen to appease some pathetic minority base who are more than likely made up of vile disgusting ugly bull dykes. Sir Winston Churchill would be crying over what has happened to that once strong and proud nation.

  • What the fuck is with these rants? You want to ban hunting, because you think it's more civilized to eat meat coming from a package at a grocery store?

A wild animal has had a good free life until the day when a bullet takes it life in an instant. Compare that to the life of an animal bred to become food, that endures its entire short life in misery and in stressful conditions with a large risk of being abused or killed in the most sickening ways by underpaid uneducated sadistic bastards.
