LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Las Vegas Metro police released graphic surveillance video Monday of an attempted robbery that ended with a victim being shot in the head.
The video showed an armed suspect attempting to rob two people at a 7-Eleven on Sierra Vista Drive, near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway, on May 10.
Police said the suspect, described as 6 feet tall with a slender build, displayed a handgun at one person. That person was able to get away from the suspect, and the gunman then turned his attention to a second person.
The second person resisted and the suspect began walking away, according to detectives. In the video, the robbery victim standing next to the store door appeared to have tried making a phone call, but that was when the suspect, off camera, shot at the victim.
The store's glass door appears shattered while the victim collapses.
Police described the suspect as a Hispanic or white man wearing a dark blue or black long-sleeve jacket with a possible white shirt underneath. He was also wearing a blue Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap.
The victim remains in the hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
Police urge anyone with information on the suspect to call Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
