Scottsdale police arrested a University of Minnesota football player early New Year's Day after he allegedly punched two nightclub security guards.
Kevin Whaley, 21, was booked on assault and disorderly conduct charges, police said. Whaley is a running back for the Minnesota Gophers. The team was in the Valley last week to play in the Insight Bowl.
According to the police report, Scottsdale police were called to the Afterlife night club, 4282 N. Drinkwater Boulevard, around 1:30 a.m. after two nightclub security guards
said they were assaulted.
The guard told police he saw Whaley disturbing some of the women in the club. Another guard joined the first guard to escort the player out.
As both men were escorting Whaley out, Whaley pulled away from their grips and punched one guard in the chest and the other in the face, police said.

From the article: "The team was in the Valley last week to play in the Insight Bowl." Could it be Whaley failed to see the irony of playing in the "Insight" bowl? Can he git some?! LOL

The sad thing is the University of Minnesota didn't even play a bowl game in Arizona. This idiot came all the way down here to get himself arrested. By the way, when I was 21 and in college, I could hardly afford to travel like this dude. And I KNOW he ain't got no job. What gives?
