Islamabad, Sept 22 (ANI): Pakistan's Foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar has dismissed the notion that her country had any special responsibility to deal with the militant group Haqqanis.

Khar announced that her country is likely to hold confidential talks with the US and Afghanistan in a bid to improve a three-way counterterrorism relationship beset by misunderstandings.

According to the News, she, however, refused to say whether her government would be willing in its three-way talks with the US and Afghanistan to commit to taking on the Haqqanis militarily.

Khar also sharply criticized US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta for his comments about supposed Pakistani military operations, the paper said.

Khar said Panetta was speaking "beyond his scope."

"He is obviously welcome to talk about what military action will take place by American troops," Khar said, but not Pakistan's.

She in turn, pointed a finger back at the United States for the "hundreds" of militants crossing the border from Afghanistan and "slaughtering our soldiers," including 17 troops who were beheaded recently, the report said. (ANI)

What are you trading with them anyway ?

The so called aid you give them is actually bribe or ransom so that you can survive in Afghanistan. They made it quite clear when they stopped Nato-U.S supplies for 9 months. They did not get effected but things started going worse for us in Afghanistan.

We can only play India card or Aid Card with them but they can play Iran and are playing China card with us.Even India has shoved us on their support to us in Afghanistan.

U.S and Nato is bas More..

  • When will our leaders realize, that Pakistan is a part of the problem and not of the solution in Afghanistan.

Be realistic, involve India and maybe Russia : 2 regional powers who have traditionally opposed Islamic fundamentalists in this region.

I work hard to earn my money, and I am sick of my tax dollars going to feed these ingrate Paki assholes.

    • @Bthor420

Because there are certain Terrorist Tajik groups that have links to CIA (with which the U.S claims to have intelligence links) and these same group are crossing over borders and killing Pakistani troop with American made weapons + The border positions from where these militants come and attacks are usually under U.S-Nato Surveillance.
