A video by NASA regarding the Beyond Einstein program- What powered the big bang, what happens at the edge of a black hole and what is dark energy. Source
Quoted comment by mHtt: Also, wouldn't it be great if Dark energy were triggered by light hitting it, and thus really just en extension of our awareness?

That is if the growing number of religious nuttheads in you country will support NASA in the future. The most important issue for science these days is actually politics. USA need to secure a well educated people, and that means not only a small elite of highly educated specialists. If the whol people would support science instead of wasting resources on stupid wars, we might just have a chance to become what Micho Kaku would describe as a civilisation type 1. The number one obstacle to achieve long term goals in science, is religion. You actually need to learn from other countries on this one American.

So true Barthome.
Short term goals by organisations, and lack of interest by the masses are two other problems.

I have no idea what you mean
he means bending light in a black hole

which is not possible because a black hole eats every thing, with no escape, but that would be cool if a black hole could immulate light

but dark energy is what it is dark, and i dont think anything is gonna light it up for more than a millisecond with a supernova?
