Sad story...ovarian cyst removal leads to woman losing extremeties

In 2010, Lisa-Marie Carter was to have an ovarian cyst removed through a simple outpatient surgery..Instead, she woke up a month later with flesh-eating bacteria attacking
her intestines and abdomen, her hands and feet black from lack of
circulation and headed for amputation.
Dr. Larry Glazerman mistakenly sliced through her small bowel when removing her cyst. Then he sewed her up without noticing the error.
That led to the massive infection, internal damage and limb loss, the
suit says. The surgical error was exacerbated by mistakes made by other
staff at Tampa General Hospital, according to the suit. Now, the suit
says, she needs care from "highly skilled medical personnel 24 hours a
day, seven days a week for the rest of her life.''

    • @ZANGADO When I was a teen, I worked in dietary at the nearby hospital..they were sued bigtime for botching 2 different surgeries..both patients had the exact same name and spelling, different middle initials

needless to say, one got heart surgery while the other one got orthoscopic knee surgery..they got the correct surgeries, just wrong patients LOL

    • @Wyseguy67 That happens alot, also baby's switched at birth by accident. I hate it when you go to the doctor, get a blood test and some dumb nurse calls two days later instead of the doctor and tries to read off of some paper that she knows nothing about, why doesn't the doctor call you about your buisness,he had no problem taking your money for the visit so he should take the five minuets to discuss his findings instead of some idiot nurse who is not knowledgeable enough on the subject or your per More..

  • Poor woman, no amount of money can make up for what she has lost. I hope she finds the strength to live her life to the full.
I suppose if this happened in the UK we could enjoy vikeingrapesquad howling about the downfalls of social medicine.

  • and people sit around all day complaining about how bad it is out there in the world, when the reality is, they dont even live out there or anywhere, and you get people like this that cant even open a jar now yet have grateful souls.. the term "spoiled brat" comes to mind when I see people bitching and moaning and they have nothing but spiteful hateful things to say... and this lady here has more right to bitch than most, but no, she troops on, still grateful for her life.. good on he More..
