A dynamic charge was used. Dynamic meaning water, if you want to look them up they are called boot-bangers. Boot means trunk in England (where they originated from) The goal is to take out the device without having it detonate to gather evidence, and minimize damage to the surrounding area. It's funny, most on this board have no clue of the thought process behind EOD, our goal is to minimize damage to life and property. Most of the time it must be blown in place, for our own safety.
