I've been off on vacation for awhile so it was time to post up a lil video in boredom.
I had a call for a snake in a woman's yard last night while on duty. It was on the side of the street when I got there, hiding under a concrete ledge. I tried kicking it out so I could grab it, but it tried to bite me several times. It was hissing at first then started crackling/rattling (Note, it's not a rattlesnake. I believe a bull snake or a water snake). I decided I was going to need to kill it, but I couldn't shoot it without the possibility of ricochet. So, I grabbed a shovel out of my patrol truck and myself and one of the people watching helped scoop it out from underneath the ledge and we hacked it quickly to death. I scooped it up and put it in a bucket and hauled it off to the country-side to feed to the vultures.
Now, the debate is: Why did I have to kill it? Why not call animal control or get some heavy gloves and carry it out to the country for a release? I like snakes, but it was a bit violent. Not a single person there wanted it alive, and the homeowner especially wanted it killed. So, may the snake rest in peace.
Yee haw, or I coulda grilled the sucker up.. om nom nom.
And then a quick remix of some Richy Dong from one of his latest videos. Apologies on the crappy video quality - my converters really really are crappy. Oh well, you get the idea.
