TWO brothers have today been locked up for life after battering a Somali teenager to death in a popular park.
Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim, 17, was murdered after being attacked with an array of weapons including a metal baseball bat on the edge of Sefton Park.
Liverpool crown court heard brothers Khadar Mohammed, 23, and Ali Mohammed, 19, both of Ritson Street, Toxteth, launched the fatal attack following a row about Muslims drinking alcohol.
The Recorder of Liverpool Judge Henry Globe QC today jailed the pair for life for the “planned and premeditated attack”.
He told them: “Both of you returned to deliver further violence with weapons to the head of the deceased while he was laying helpless on the ground.
“I conclude at that time there was intent to kill or at least a reasonable belief that through your actions it was likely he would be killed.”
Judge Globe ordered Khadar Mohammed serve a minimum of 16 years behind bars, while Ali Mohammed will spent at least 14 years in jail.
Three other men - Essa Mohammed Ismail, 22, the brother of the other two defendants and of the same address and their cousins Ahmed Kayse Ahmed, 30 of London and Ibrahim Ahmed, 23, of Beaconsfield Street, Toxteth, have each been jailed for three years for violent disorder.
