  • Was he a slave owner as well? Too bad he wasn't as concerned about giving woman and minorities a voice as much as he was giving himself a voice.
Our Founding Fathers were funny guys.

  • Beck%u2019s %u2018Thomas Paine%u2019 delivered some of the wing-nuttiest rantings ever to be broadcast on Fox %u2014 and that%u2019s saying something. Among the gems:

    1. The time for talk is over.
    2. Your complacency will only aid and abet our national suicide.
    3. The stimulus package was as bad as 9/11 and Pearl Harbor.
    4. Democrats are as bad as al Qaeda.
    5. To show you agree with the preceeding, at twelve noon on April 15, honk your horn three times.
    6. After the teabag parties, there will be a million man %u201Cwe the people%u201D march on Washington.
    7. It%u2019s time to hoist this battle flag once again.
    8. His name is Thomas Paine, and he%u2019s ready to take back America.

It looks like Glenn Beck is copying a lot of the talking points from Alex Jones.

Our Founding Fathers were funny guys.

...that document, developed by the founding fathers, laid the ground-work for EVERY future "right" in the United States.

In fact, Thomas Jefferson, a slave owner, was the first to suggest that Native American's were the mysterious moundbuilders. That suggestion was certainly a turning point in understanding indigenous populations across the globe. But moreover, Thomas Jefferson, opened up the possibility that "all men ARE created equal". Your comment is ignorant and arrogant. How dare you tread on the founding fathers!

American conservatism is collapsing. So now they have moved even further right into the looney fringe. This will ensure their demise for years to come.

  • Quoted comment by Zardoz86: Thomas Pain was what conservatives today would call a socialist. Stupid ****s

lol I know I almost laughed, Paine was considered way too radical for the time. But that reminds me of one of my favorite Twain quotes...

"The radical of one century is the conservative of the next. The radical invents the views. When he has worn them out, the conservative adopts them."

  • Thomas Paine was a deist and mocked all religions equally, especially Christianity, are we ready to take back America from the enslavement of our minds by Christian fundamentalists who aim to enforce their moral laws and regulations into our lives and control what we do with our bodies and what we put in them?
