Dutch state failed to prevent Srebrenica deaths: court (5)

Baku APA. The Dutch state is responsible for the deaths of three Muslim men
after the fall of Srebrenica during the Bosnian war, a Dutch appeals court
ruled on Tuesday, opening the door to compensation claims, APA reports
quoting Reuters.
The ruling will touch a raw nerve with the Dutch, whose troops were in
charge of the U.N.

Syrian defector : I was ordered to commit genocide

To my way of thinking the killers were the ones responsible The Dutch and Nato may have been guilty of some thing, but not responsible. Just as we shouldn't blame society for peoples crimes, nor should we the Dutch.

Armed with only small arms and a poor UN mandate against heavy artillery, outnumbered and no back up from other UN nations when situation became critical there was no other choice. The bosnian leaders like Mladic are responsible for the genocide massacre, not the Dutch.

Never ever judge about this so called withdraw if you don't know the exact circumstances and the way we were let down by other nations who were part of the UN-forces over there. We asked for close air support moretimes, but didn't get it for still unclearified reason. We asked our government beforehand to allow our troops to carry the right weapons to have a strong defense, but didn't get this allowance. And last but not least, international intelligence had seen the movements of Mladics' army d More..

Eh, it's not so much cowardice as realism. They could have stood in the way, and been killed with the rest, or they could've stepped aside.
Recall the genocide of Rwanda - we had UN troops there too, under Canadian General Romeo Dallaire - he did everything he could, but in the end couldn't do much to stop the slaughter. A number of UN peacekeepers died in Rwanda because they tried to intervene.

For two years islamist fanatics have used Srebrenica as safe zone for retreat after operations in which they killed thousands of Serbs in nearby villages, but that was not reported by western media. And you can google reports from Dutch commander in Srebrenica that he did see groups of armed man leaving Srebrenica, and returning after night...

Bullshit. They were not Dutch troops, but U.N. troops at the time. Secondly, they had no choice. Thirdly, you can't blame the soldiers for the decisions of the upper ranks - they followed orders.
And, of course, being responsible for three deas muslims doesn't mean they were responsible for all killed muslims in Srebenica. If you ask me, aks Milsoevic, Radic and the Serbs who is responsible for the killed muslims.
Maybe the dutch contingent of the U.N. failed to protect the Srebrenica muslims; More..

@ the original poster of this vid..NATO had very limited powers of engagement in this conflict. Furthermore, if you equate the deaths of THREE Muslim men to the amount of MURDERS commited by Al-Qaeda and their offshoots then i have one thing to say to you ..GET FUCKED TWAT!

@777 True.
The rules of engagement were ridiculously strict. The only military guy that said 'fuck the rules' was Lt Col Bob Stewart, British army. When Bosnian scumbags opened fire on his convoy of Warrior armoured vehicles, he sent them all to hell with the 25mm guns.

The legacy of poor leadership leads to indecision. This incident proved it is better to make a reasoned decision that to make no decision.
