(documentary) "Supersize Me" (2004) (Part 1/4)

Spurlock's film follows a 30-day experiment during which he subsists entirely on food and items purchased from McDonald's. Documented are the effects on Spurlock's physical and psychological well-being. The film also explores the fast food industry's corporate influence -- including how it encourages poor nutrition for its own profit.

During the filming, Spurlock dined at McDonald's restaurants three times per day, sampling every item on the chain's menu at least once. He consumed an average of 5,000 calories (the equivalent of 9.26 Big Macs) per day during the experiment.

  • I agree 100% that fast food is bad for you but nobody is forcing anybody to eat this crap. You could sit at home and eat sticks of butter too... What goes into your body is your own choice. Some people make bad choices.

I think my biology teacher said it best. He said he always finds it funny when he sees fat people at the gas station putting premium fuel into their car. Why do they care so much about what goes into their car and not their bodies? After all your body is the one machine More..

  • i've been several time in the USA (NY, Florida...) and i've never eaten such bad taste food. It was really hard to find a place with "standart" food. And everything we eaten was oversized, compared with french (or european) food. I was really shocked when i saw in florida people with 1 Liter cup of Coke.

one of the biggest problem is the size of the menu in US restaurant: as the french girl said ( at 15:07): in europe the biggest size match with the small size in US Mac Donalds (but t More..

it isn't just about going into a fast food joint

it's about the presence of the food industry in making decisions about what you eat and how you perceive your health -- if you want a more specific example why not contemplate the fact that the fast food cor More..
