Republicans Block, Give Tax Cuts for the Rich

Whilst Companies are making record profits in 2010, And the top 1% keep getting wealthier, main street is struggling. Well thankyou the republican party for blocking tax hikes for the wealthy, all democrats wanted to do is put the tax rates back to the same as Clinton's era.

Republicans are patriots? No they are traitors

Hows the "Trickle down effect" working for you?

  • LOL, Alan Grayson. Why don't you use a currently employed man to make your points? Yeah, raise taxes in economic troubled times. Genius.

    • Wrong. Revenue has gone up. The problem is for every $1 in new tax revenue, Congress decides to spend $3.

We have a SPENDING problem, not a revenue problem.

    • Well, probably because I'm not a dupe. Your comment is pretty nonsensical.

The right kind of tax cuts don't cost anything...they wind up INCREASING revenue over time. They make it more attractive to do business, they create more taxable business activity. Period.

Taxes aren't the only variable...so are costs imposed by employment regulations, federal and state health care regulations, etc.

But taxes on investment, capital gains, and corporate revenues directly influence how much money compan More..

So happy republicans got the congress back...cant wait for 2012!

You have no problem with taxes funding jingoist unjust wars which were sold to the American public based on lies and deceit and something that directly contradicts the founding ideals of this nation yet you have a problem with helping out your less fortunate countrymen ( whom I'm betting you characterize in you head as an endless plethora of black crack addicts)how patriotic.

  • I'll say it again to my American brothers, you've allowed yourselves to be divided into two groups that slander each other endlessly while criminals rob you blind.
Ya'll need to wake up and smell the coffee.
These politicians are all on the same team, belong to the same club, and none of YOU is in it or on it.
You're under it as long as you keep voting for the two party sham.
Independents are the future of your republic.

    • I disagree, there's still time to salvage "the republic" without the chaos you see happening in Egypt happening first, and I'm not what you'd call an optimist either, bud.
Winston Churchill once defended the democratic election process by calling it THE WORST form of government ever devised by man -- with the exception of EVERY OTHER form of government ever devised by man.
All we get to do is vote out the tyrant, but you guys have been voting in this silly two party system for so long More..

    • And the morons on the left, like those that have decimated the once great California economy, will continue to pretend that America having the highest corporate tax rates on Earth is good for the economy.

      Posted Feb-3-2011 By

    • Simple economics. If revenue exceeds costs a product will be marketed. If revenue doesn't exceed costs a product will not be marketed. Tax rates affect profits, not revenue therefore taxes have no affect on business revenue. After that argument was debunked 27 years ago supply side economics advocates shifted their stance to the idea that lower taxes and higher profits for corporations allowed for investment in capital which in turn led to economic growth. This is another fallacious proposition More..

    • Cali crisis happened for the same reason many states are completely fucked. They thought the housing bubble would never end and they borrowed based on speculative growth that never ended up happening. Texas has a budget crisis as well now despite low taxes and a favorable business climate. They're like the Ireland of the US and proof that low taxes doesn't = good economy.

    • Simple economics yes, forcing corporations to pay the highest tax rates on the entire planet, will cause outsourcing and reduce the venture capital investment that drives job creation in America. California's economy is shit, destroyed, Texas and Utah are thriving.

Leftist policy is why America has to cut a $40m welfare check for California, every single day. It's why they hand out worthless IOUs instead of tax refunds. It's why businesses are fleeing, and taking their jobs with them. If it wer More..

    • Texas's housing bubble related problems are temporary because their economy is sound. Businesses are leaving California, and moving in to Texas, and they're taking their jobs with them. It's the most job friendly state in the country, and east Texas is replacing silicon valley as the tech capital of the world.

Governments, on the other hand, have no such motivation. They live to acquire and wield power...which is why our constitution was written the way it was. The feds have grown so far beyond the bounds of constitutional limits, that the framers' fears of an insatiable beast have been realized.
