In summer time the temperature in Tivat is around 32-35oC. This is considered thin air by some, as suggested in the POH of all aircrafts.

Yeah but Tivat is only just above sea level. A high temperature shouldnt make much difference to a large powerful airliner. Unless it was grossly overloaded.

Density altitude is the critical parameter here, assuming that the aircraft is not overloaded. As this one seem to be a cargo overloading is plausible yes :-).

I would venture to guess that aborting at that point was no longer an option but how cool would that be to be the spectators having that buzz your head!
