Mostly intelligence film, made to show how the jap defences were built so the american forces could learn how to knock them down better when they enconter them again.
The second part is a grim reminder of how hard the gyrenes had to fight to conquer even the smallest pacific island held by the japanese. No wonder they used 'Fat Man' and 'Little Boy' to end the war swiftly.

Hate seeing my brothers in arms killed.
Still, great footage of historic battle, may they rest in peace.
This is why we train and fight so hard, to never let these men that served before us and each other down.
When I served, this was always in my thoughts, never would I let my brothers down, present or past.
