LOS ANGELES -- Authorities are warning warning parents about a potentially dangerous new internet fad gaining in popularity among teenagers.
The stunt involves teens using Axe Body Spray to light themselves, their friends and objects on fire.
Sprayed over an open flame, the high alcohol content of the popular body spray easily ignites, turning it into a makeshift mini flame thrower.
The prank is so popular, social networking websites like Facebook have groups dedicated to it.
A number of teens are posting videos of the stunts on YouTube.
Earlier this year, a teen from Ontario, Canada, was hospitalized with second and third degree burns, according to CTV News.
Earlier this month in Longview, Washington, a 13-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly igniting a school bathroom trashcan and using Axe as an accelerant.

Agreed - I use to watch my Dad do it using lighter fluid. He use to squirt it on his hands then light it. He could let it burn a bit longer than usual because his hands were tough, calloused and leathery from many years of working as a diesel mechanic in the Military.

This isn't new at all. This is just boys being boys, nothing has changed in that regard - Me and my friends were doing this 15 years ago.
Should we have known better? Yeah. But did anyone get hurt? No. And is the holier than thou attitude of some of these comments really valid? Nope.
