The FSA wants an sunni run govt which will place sharia law and basically sent syria back a few centuries. Assad never had an islamic govt because he knew that theres different religions in Syria and wanted all of them to be equal. Sunnis Radicals want to install a govt that will prosecute minorities and push a strict islamic agenda. You want to see how a Sunni run govt is then look at Saudi Arabia where they even prosecute fellow muslims which are shiite's. Imagine what would happen to all the minorities in Syria just because Sunnis have a dream of re-establishing a caliphate.
