Driving the AlCan hwy.. I needed someone to keep me awake for a few hundred miles. I picked up the scariest Canadian hitchhiker I could find. Kept me on my toes. The dude had old boxing gloves hanging out of his sack, was strong looking and a pissed off look. In the US that could get you killed. At that time, it made for a wakeful drive.

no as much in as in the USA...but I saw some morbid overweight people in canada using two seat in all you can eat restaurants and having a electric scooter to move around just outside the restaurant ....fkg grooosss
Nice people though....smart and yes....I was there in 9/11 and people line up to donate blood and pick up stranded passenger in the airports ....
