It was the bottom of the eighth inning against the Padres Monday night when the usually fluid Barnett started speaking gibberish during a live TV broadcast.

"[The] Go-ahead run is at fifth," said a halting Barnett, "On what Adams is insisting on calling a botched robbery. What actually happened was his henchman..."

Several seconds of silence followed. It's possible that technicians turned off his microphone in mid-sentence.

  • Well thats exactly what I said. Its the 5th element of a secret protoype. Thats what happens when you let a guy do something of this sort. You know, a squirrel rapist at large. It is all about the henchmen. It is a botched robbery. A romper room get down. A regular dumpster dive in, and one hell of a palm tree beat down.

  • Also ask the person to stick their tongue out straight. If not straight a stroke could be suspect.

  • Sounds like a stroke. My dad had one while he was driving his truck, and he thought he was near LAX but it was just some airport about 3 hours from L.A. very scary stuff. Like a reset button was hit, his memory is shot but his mind is still sharp. Really weird what brain injuries can do.
