It's weird how easy they seem to snap in lots of these videos but you need to keep in mind, in almost all of these there are strong perpendicular and or parallel forces being applied to them, which compromises the strength of any structure. Under some conditions your leg can manifest leverage to break itself.

Yeah, when you are laying on the ground, in massive pain, and you know those bones are totally shattered, it is a very disheartening feeling. Been there and hate to see it happen to anyone.
