Schuhplattler (traditional alpine dance ) in South Tyrol
Been to the Dolomites last week and dropped into some local festival ( Almabtrieb - the drove of cattle from mountain pasture ) I was very surprised that the " Schuhplattler " still is a vivid part of the alpine culture and not only a tourist attraction.
Turn up the volume and enjoy.

@SpicyWeiner
I would say the same, but the problem is that telling it into their face is kind of challenging. These mountain people are strong as hell, and I dont mean in a gay bodybuilding context.

As someone from the rather northern parts of Germany this makes me wonder.
- White socks? Okay given the tradition thats fine.
- leather pants? I understand that this is not a fetish but a heritage
- acordeon music? Well here it is mainly the gypsies playing it
- silly dancing? Here my problems start
- silly accent? I blame it on the thin air up in the alps
Okay... I show some tolerance, but it still looks kind of weird to me. But if the goats and cows enjoy it and make better milk then there More..

Surely this dance MUST have originally included an equal amount of ladies in the line up.
This display seems to swing the wrong way.

Trentino - South Tyrol, my homeland. But believe me, no one of us is "dancing" this, its mostly only for the tourists but i love to see that not all our traditions are gone. this "Schuhplatl" is typical in Tyrol/Bavaria/South Tyrol/Trentino and i think also some parts of Swiss.
