Locksmithing is one of the oldest professions. 4,000 years of traditions. But today when we see a little girl pick a lock. We naturally think shes going to be a criminal.
When we see a little girl shoot a gun, We think she will be a murderer.
1 in 4 girls will be sexually assaulted by the age of 18. Im teaching my daughter how to use a gun.

Well.. most of you seem to have decided this litle girls fate, based on an 1 minute clip. Because people who picks locks ARE going to be criminals, right? Well, maybe not. Maybe this is just fun, because most people can't pick a lock - and especially not kids. What is interesting in this video is that the girl seems pretty skilled. Maybe she's even a bright girl, who just enjoy being good at something nobody else is good at. And her dad praises her, and praising can be good. She can grow up work More..

I make my torque wrenches and picks out of cheap Chinese hacksaw blades - the small ones.
I use a bench grinder to shape and then the wrench gets the bend and the twist with the aid of a mapp gas torch.
All my kids have learned the fine art of lock-picking though they haven't graduated much beyond raking as in this video.
Even so, there are a quite a few higher quality padlocks that are damned hard to open.

funny how we all associate lock-picking with crime... what about those times youve lost your keys, locked yourself out, etc. This is a skill that is functional and practical. You would never need to call a locksmith once she got good enough.

@dwencl That's why we need special companies with special advanced criminals to help us 24 hours per day.

@TYsiEK True, true. Although that is useful maybe once every few years vs having the opportunity to steal shit every single day.
