Damage to Coast Guard Station Galveston From Ike

U.S. Coast Guard, Station Galveston crew members begin repairing damage left in the wake of Hurricane Ike Sept. 15, 2008.

Crews from Integrated Support Commands New Orleans and St. Louis have already begun the process of supplying power, water and other essential needs to the station.

  • Ike was scary monster. Lots of damage. Hobby airport, about 6 miles from my house, recorded winds up to 150mph. Half of the Houston metro area is still in the dark. Next time I'll send my family to the in-laws and ride it out on my own.

  • Geeze you guys are getting some shitty weather over there in the states, seems to be getting worse every year. I wish all you folk well and get back to normality soon. I guess your next obsticle is to get the isurance to play ball and pay out.
