thats insane - no US pilot would be allowed to fly that low even in combat! I cant believe they turks still use these, expecting their opponent to come at them with a Mig 21 or something. how old is this footage?

Thats not an aircraft carrier. judging by the bow, it looked to be a Frigate maybe but for sure,not a carrier. I've seen them from the catwalk of a carrier in the early '80's. They don't come THAT close. They request permission and maybe come within a 1/4 mile then peel away.
Too dangerous with helos and other birds entering/exiting in patterns for that BS. Besides, surface to air missiles would have knocked him down a few miles off if the fighters didn't knock him out of the sky 50-100 m More..

whats really crazy, is when he pans back to catch the other aircraft, you can still see the effect the F4 had on the water, being that low, amazing, and stupid, one rouge wave, and he is fish food.
