  • OK, I don't get what the secret is here. This is a televised documentary. Nothing secret about it.

    • @markymark69 I understand that. Being retired military, I also understand city fighting. It can be nasty. Basra is a major city. Getting back-up during an event like that is no secret. Unreported I can understand. Secret? Hollywood style drama?

    • @Paladin65r ... I'm no expert but I'd guess that we (Brits) thought that Basra would support us like we got them to first time round (Desert Storm) ... but instead they kicked back ... egg on face ...

    • @Ex ExPat A situation like Basra is close to impossible to determine ahead of time. Especially in the Middle East. Folks there can be very fickle to put it mildly.

    • @Paladin65r Agreed, and we let them down first time round ... so really should have guessed that they'd remember ...

  • Bitter is the fruit eaten by those who havent tasted the sweetness of victory.

Stand up. Take stock. Ride the wave of victory that your sons and husbands paid for with their lives. Who were thrown from rooftops and executed. Stand up and give credit. Not because we require it, because we could care less, but because we deserve it.

  • In a high tech world you HAVE to make deals and afterwards hunt them down. Save your citizens....

  • Cheers for the upload. Pretty balsy for the BBC (50% owned by UK govt) to produce stuff that shows UK govt in such a bad light -- and most importantly admits that the uprising of Iraqis is really what turned the tides of that war. You'll never see anything substantial produced my US MSM that touches on this fact.
