Horrifying near miss as train barrels towards passenger

MORE horrifying footage of near misses with trains has been released by Queensland Rail to highlight the risks some people take as part of National Rail Safety Week.
In one heart-in-the-mouth incident, a young man crosses the tracks at Fortitude Valley station but appears to hit his head on the platform and falls down.
After lying on the tracks for what seems like an eternity, he manages to crawl back up just as a train arrives.
QR CEO Paul Scurrah said the man had since been identified and arrested by police over the incident in June.
In another incident a group of teenagers were captured on video lying down beside the tracks at Robina in a sickening attempt at thrill-seeking.
"This incident was so close, the train driver thought he had hit them,'' Mr Scurrah said.
"The families of those involved may never realise how close they came to having a police officer turn up on their doorstep to tell them some devastating and tragic news.''
