This video is an interview with a Canadian War Veteran (do i capitalize that?) Anyways thought I'd throw this in the pile of uploads today. Also would like to tell you a story of my grandpa who was in the exact same war.
Anyways I'm sure half this story is horse shit but ill tell it anyway.
My grandpa was based in this small base beside this american base, They didnt share bases for obvious reasons, anyhow as we all know historically the Canadians have been underfunded when it comes to gear, and since Americans had all this fancy stuff, my grandpa and his friends would go for walks around the bases.. but they would stand on the side of the road and watch the convoys drive out. This was how my grandpa payed for his cigarrettes and booze... he would wait for the last American tank to get close then he would hop on the back and start throwing off as much shit as he could onto the road for his buddies to grab, then they would all run back to the Canadian base as fast as they could and trade whatever they could for their smokes/poker/booze, whatever.
A more serious story he told me was about a time they were on patrol and got an order to dig in, so they dug into a graveyard and were safe all night cuz none of the koreans/chinese would go near it.
I have cooler stories but they are too grim to post here. anyways thanx for watching/reading... sorry for the cool story bros.
