They look so professional. Well I suppose they are . Just a huge change from FSA rebel footage.
Do the US tanks have the smoke for retreating from a position?
That was pretty cool.

@apphlephone4 when this war is over, Syria will have a seasoned, formidable armed force.

@apphlephone4
There are 2 ways of deploying smoke if you are a happy owner of T-72 MBT. Primary are cannisters placed on the turret - they provide semicircular, dense white smoke screen some distance from tank so you still can manouvre on the battlefield - used mostly in opn spaces. The other type is to inject humidified fuel in to the exhaust system. Smoke color, density and volume vary depending on exhaust sistems temperature, quality of fuel and pressure system.

At 0:48, you can see rounds making impact on the right side of the tank nearest the camera.

Yeah I thought I saw that splash too.
Still, they need some RPGs, suspect they will run into them as they fan out.

@globetrotter79 And tank crew must think:
"A kingdom for some stupid FSA firing an RPG to our reactive armour covered T-72"

Those SAA tanks in Daraya act much more agressively than we have seen in other clips. Maybe the reason for the lack of FSA material from the area?

General "Buck" Turgidson: Sir, you can't let him in here. He'll see everything. He'll see the big board!"
To the Syrian Army tank commanders: You guys need to beef up your reactive armor on the tanks. Word on the street is the weaponry out of Benghazi had 20,000 SA-7 heat seeking hand held missiles and anti-tank rockets headed your way. Put your seat belts on. Cheers.

What do they own? Rubble alley?
The FSA come and go, the SAA stay inside tanks and get picked off one after another.
So far the AssRat doesnt own shit in Darayya.

1. interesting footage tx. seems like a show of force each armor covering the other.
2. random supressive fire by the bmp turret gun at some unseen building, definately not engaging a real target. just wallspamming if u know what i mean.
3. obviously the fsa in that city is low on rpg ammo and has zero ATGM.
4. all the combat group tactic by the SAA will mean nothing if the enemy places some powerful ieds in the street, deep buried or not. all the fsa needs to do is get a mobility kill on the le More..

@kafr
You have to have some idea of where the tanks are going to be driving before you plant the IED.
Otherwise, you plant it and it sits there in that spot for weeks and the explosives used to make it go to waste. And the FSA is always short on weapons and explosives.
It's not that easy to just plant IED's in random spots and just hope the enemy drives by when you're watching for them.
