The reasoning being that they don't want the round traced back to a larger caliber weapon. A .22 leaves no striation marks on the slug to be tied back to the gun. Something tells me they don't worry about that too much in Brasil. I think after looking at the recording it's pretty obvious this guy is no pro. Middle of the day in a store with a camera has amateur written all over it.

@JamesRWII Yeah there are several reasons why pros use .22. It's quiet, and easy to conceal. It doesn't make a huge mess, just a small hole you can plug with your finger and take the body away. etc.
Brazil is just a mess though yeah. Easy to find somebody to kill someone for you, for maybe a hundred dollars.

Pretty small caliber gun. That guy took a shot 6" tops away from his head and was able to brace himself to the ground. If that were a 45, he would have dropped staright dead.
