6 dead, 13 missing after Saturday's earthquake
The powerful earthquake that hit rural areas of northern Japan on Saturday morning left 6 people dead, 13 remain missing, and 233 others were injured, NHK has learned.
Two of the 3 construction workers buried in a landslide died in the Hanayama district of Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture. One is still missing.
In the Koei district of the same city, a landslide crushed a hot spring hotel. Five people were rescued , but 7 remain missing.
The Meteorological Agency is calling for caution against possible secondary disasters, as more than 260 aftershocks have followed the major quake.
