Chicago Blizzard 2011

Tuesday February 1st and a wicked blizzard has landed in Chicago. It slowly started at about 2:00 pm and quickly greeted us with white out, freezing temps that keep plumenting and snow.

This video was shot at Midway Airport with wind gusts approx 52 mph.

Meterologists are forecasting 20+ inches of snow to hit with the worst part of the storm reaching us tomorrow

  • why does anyone stay in Chicago? Horrible horrible weather, expensive, crowded. Stupid gun laws and lots of crazy nay-gars. When i leave California it won't be for anywhere near illinois.

    • I used to live in L.A., now in Chicago and I enjoy it here. Every city has its ghetto areas. In fact, geographically, I think LA's ghettos are more wide-spread than in Chicago. Here, most black people stay in the south side. The weather is bearable most of the time, but I do miss sunny California. The current weather is an anomaly.   • I'm in it right now- it isn't so bad. Everybody gets a day off to shovel snow out of the way. Dust storms, hurricanes, typhoons and tornados are worse.

    LOL!! I'm about 300 miles due south and we finally got a little snow but only a fraction of the ice they predicted. Hope I get through without losing power. WINTER SUCKS!!

  • I'm excited for all this snow. I've been living in Chicago since 2007 and it's my first blizzard ever. I don't even see plow trucks out right now.
