500 dogs saved from slaughter (CHINA) a feel good story?
HUNDREDS of dogs set for the dinner table in China were saved last week when 200 animal lovers rushed to their rescue. A brave driver, who spotted the doomed animals crammed into the back of a truck, swerved in front of the vehicle on a motorway in Beijing.
The man then managed to hold up the lorry long enough to alert other animal rights activists using his internet blog

Local media said 520 of the pups — set to be slaughtered — were eventually freed on Friday after an animal-protection group purchased them for £1,650.
The rescue was the latest in a string of high profile actions by Chinese pet lovers eager to put a stop to their country's ancient tradition of eating dog.

And the driver/farmer of these dogs laughed all the way to the bank. Who will adopt all these dogs? As long as there is a market for eating dogs, its still not going to stop. So if I were the dog farmer, I would be breeding more and more and finding that same route and try to find the same guy so he can cash his shit in! lol

@Benzaintarental Problem is that they are not "breeding them". They are petnapping or stealing them from pet owners. How would anyone like their pet stolen, butchered then ate. It's barbaric especially to man's best friend the dog. Cats....well they taste like chicken so why not? lol

So many people that flip out over his give no two halves of a fuck about intelligent cows that can become attached to people when treated right are kept in shitty conditions and slaughtered. @hedgehog even if it were illegal, I have my doubts about it being enforced. it's a cultural mentality (animal abuse, not dog eating)that goes back far too long to be erased by any law, imo. not to say terrible things don't happen to animals here as well, it's just more noticeable in a country with such a large population I suppose
