The video starts with an experiment which demonstrates how easy it is, under a set of circumstances, to get discouraged and give up. Anyone able to manipulate the circumstances can make us feel helpless and give up. Is this the reason for the apathy in much of the American public? Could be.
Examples of psychological assault in the media follow. Can anyone confirm if these commercials are real? Do they actually appear on TV?

  • Have you noticed that today's television programming is really bad. 90% of the news in news programs are BAD news, are highly exaggerated and don't show the whole truth? Have noticed that the most popular shows on TV today are Reality shows that show stupid, rich, famous. people, doing stupid things and acting in an immoral and hostile way. Commercials on TV are design to tell you that you need that product to live well and fashionable, when they're absolutely unnecessary.

  • I remember a super bowl commercial years ago with Alec Baldwin stating "We are going to rot your brain" A hulu commercial I think. Seem's to have worked on many. Mainstream media is complete garbage and the fear mongering and lowering of expectation's is all encompassing.

    • @Vfor Try also reading on a state of mind called "cognitive dissonance". It's another tool of manipulation. George Orwell mentioned it in his novel 1984.

    • @khamomil My dentist warned me she was gonna spray me with water instead I got warm air.it shocked me more than if she had hit a nerve..bit of physical cognitive dissidence? Ive been researching it and seems so broad a term..

    • @oldboy6o4 What i understood from my research is that 'Cognition' has a variety of definitions based on human brain functions. The mental process of knowing, including awareness, perception, reasoning, and judgment. Which is different for every person. It comes down to what that person knows and believes.

      In your example, i think it was the fact that your dentist told you what to expect. So your brain was telling you, what to expect. Since you have probably experienced the feeling before. The More..

    • @hgoldschmidt If you mean, the TV commercials I asked about, then thanks for the reply, and it's horrifying that such violence is being used to sell stuff. The big black guy in red in the office, that's terrorism pure and simple, and the wife who tackles her husband to take the food from him, that's downright ... can't find the words.
