CBS Atlanta News reporter gets punched in the face

GAINESVILLE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Investigative reporter Jeff Chirico took a blow to the chin
while investigating a businessman charged with stealing customers' tax
refunds.A CBS Atlanta News undercover investigation found Richard Wilder, 43,
of Braselton, operating a new business in Gainesville weeks after he
was arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in September.

Wilder, who used to operate Braselton Used Auto Sales, was charged
with seven counts of theft by deception and one count of racketeering
for allegedly depositing customers' tax refund checks into an account
and keeping the money.
Court records show Wilder was indicted in Gwinnett County for
odometer fraud, forgery, computer theft and more in 2009 and 2010. He
pleaded to two felony charges in 2011.
The Georgia secretary of state issued a cease and desist order
against Wilder for running a used auto dealership without a license. But
that didn't seem to stop Wilder or his family, who moved their business
to Braselton and then to Gainesville.
An CBS Atlanta undercover producer found Wilder selling cars and
offering to complete his tax return at EZ Auto Sales at 1608 Atlanta Rd.
in Gainesville.
According to the secretary of state's website, Wilder is not licensed to sell used cars in Georgia.

Wilder would not answer Chirico's questions about his business.

Shortly after questioning Wilder, Chirico was approached by a man who called himself Donald Wilder, Richard Wilder's father.

As Chirico asked him questions about the business, Donald Wilder
turned and punched Chirico in the chin, knocking him to the ground.
Chirico was not seriously injured.

  • You know those assholes that always worked on the yearbook in high school, that put 500 pictures of themselves in the yearbook and are complete homos? Every news reporter is one of those guys.

  • Anyone who defends that old piece of shit is an idiot. That reporter is trying to bring to light that these assholes are ripping people off as a career. He is trying to let the public know not to do business with them because they will steal your hard earned money. And, usually people who buy used cars are not wealthy in the first place.

If you were ripped off by this family your opinion for defending this old shit head would different. Throw him in jail for the rest of his pathetic life.

  • "It only costs $35 to punch this man in the mouth"..... Seems to me the old man had a flash back to the 50's where it literally probably did cost you $35 to punch someone in the mouth..... nowadays, adjusting for inflation, it's more like $35,000

  • I mean...I am on the fence about this a little. I believe these Wilder people are douche bags to the core...no doubt. But the reporter was asking for it...and when do we not like to see one of these "in-your-face" reporters get punched? That's just good shit right there.

    • @willyvola Yepp that is the entire issue here.

The old guy clearly showed that he did NOT want the journalist to come inside.

The fact that the journalist flat-out lied about something that had not occured just seconds ago just shows how poor the journalist was as well...

  • You little cunt faggot. Little cunt faggots are good at one thing:

Calling the police when they get popped in the mouth for being little cunt faggots.

Yeah, I read the fucking story and no, I'm not standing up for corrupt used car salesman...

I *am* standing up for one guy having the nuts to pop this little fuck in his mouth like he deserved.

Journalists have become nothing more than rat fuck weasels with political agendas and it's too bad more people don't have the nuts that this g More..

    • @Balkanisation2 Let's try this together.

      Look at my email above.

Now....slowly so you don't get hurt...

come down to the third paragraph.

Do you know what a paragraph is? That's right where the blank spots end and the writing begins!

      Very good!

Do you see where it says "Yeah, I read the fucking story and no, I'm not standing up for corrupt used car salesman..."?

      Very good!

Now... you read that about 1000 times to yourself and we'll stop back tomorrow t More..

      Posted Feb-2-2013 By

      (0) | Report

    • @LiRM35 So what? I don't care if you said 'I'm not standing up for the corrupt car salesman', it doesn't mean you saying 'Journalists have become nothing more than rat fuck weasels with political agendas' didn't happen...

Now, try re-reading what you wrote, then, slowly, re-read what I wrote, it's not a lot, only a sentence, now where do I say that you are supporting the car salesman? You said journalists follow political agendas, so naturally it's fair to assume you see the investigation of More..

    • @Vorna I think more people are going to follow suit. This country needs to be taken back by the men who made it great, not the pansy ass excuses for men like this reporter. Get punched and walk it off like a man. Especially when you've been warned of the incoming fist.

  • That reporter acts like the police are his personal bitches with nothing better to do then get him outta the trouble he starts. Then he tells the old man that he WILL be arrested like he has a say in it. lol IDK who's right or wrong here but I hope that reporter learned something about disrespecting people.

    • @iopan666 - He's doing his job, which 80 percent of it is to be a douchebag. He got a good story and buddy is going to be charged with assault almost for sure. I think the stupidity is one sided and it's not the journalist.

      Posted Feb-1-2013 By

    • @RustRocket True, but that's not illegal. Punching someone in the face is definitely illegal. Given the right circumstances I can't say whether or not I'd have acted aggressively, but if I did, I wouldn't excuse my actions as anything less than stupid.

      Posted Feb-1-2013 By

    • @Laszlo

Yea , we have laws , and I'm sure that old man will have to explain himself , and possibly pay for what he did.

And hitting someone is wrong , unless it's in self defense.

But I also think that reporter should take some of the responsibility for his actions as well.

      Posted Feb-1-2013 By

      (2) | Report

    • @RustRocket It would be nice if that happened. I feel no sympathy for the douchebag what-so-ever and laws HAVE been put in place to stop reporters from harassing people, but only becuase it's been such an enormous problem, but when the news companies are funded by the largest, strongest elites in the world, it's hard to put laws in place to stop them, but this sort of reporting should be illegal also, IMO.

    • @splicer Yepp I would be surprised if the old man will be convicted for that at all considering how clear it was that he did NOT want the journalist inside, yet the journalist re-opened a closing door...

I have never punched anyone in my entire life, but would probably had done the same if someone I had clearly told I did not want inside my property tried to go inside anyway right behind me...
